Arter: I enjoy playing under Groves

AFC Bournemouth midfielder Harry Arter is looking forward to the Cherries new campaign under manager Paul Groves.

Arter believes that Groves will want the midfielder to play in a more advanced role in comparison to previous manager Lee Bradbury, who often played him in a central midfield partnership, which required him to be disciplined and often defensive in his performances.

But Arter believes Groves will ask him to play his natural game which is instinctively attack minded.

Arter told the Daily Echo...

'...I really enjoyed playing under him last season and, the first thing he said to me was that he wanted me higher up the pitch and playing a more attacking role, which I feel I am a lot more suited to.

"Under the previous manager, I felt I had to play too defensively. It is not that I can`t play defensively but I am an attack-minded player and my main attribute is going forward. I was pleased when Paul recognised this and he wants me to receive the ball higher up the pitch.

"It is going to take a lot of hard work for us to play the way he wants us to, not so much physically, but concentrating on the technical side. He wants you to get better with each session and, if you don`t try to improve, people will overtake you..."

Make or break then Arter?

I agree with Arter. Under Bradderz he was playing like a defensive player & that was where he lost the ball most. Maybe this is the same problem wich Gregory had.

Another option to "play in the hole". Perhaps we need a bigger hole.

Arter has throughout his whole career played just off the striker, until Bradbury made him a play a holding midfielder. You cant really blame him for poor performances last season.
