Hard: Injury updates on Fogden and Sheringham

AFC Bournemouth physio Steve Hard has given an update on Wes Fogden and Charlie Sheringham's injuries.

The Cherries duo are set to continue their rehabilitation during pre-season after both suffered long term injuries during the 2011/12 campaign.

Sheringham sustained a foot injury scoring against Brentford on Boxing Day, the initial x-ray was unclear but an MRI scan revealed a fracture to the navicular.

In January he had an operation to insert two screws in to fix the bone and spent three months in a protective boot.

In April Fogden injured his shoulder in training and is expected to be out for around six months.

Hard told afcb.co.uk...

'Wes Fogden had his operation last month. He saw the surgeon last week and he was happy for him to come out of the sling. Wes is doing some gentle exercises and is due to see the surgeon again during pre-season to get the go ahead to progress his rehab.

'Charlie Sheringham started feeling discomfort in one of his toes when he came out of the air boot and started jogging. He has seen the surgeon who operated on his foot and it was thought best that he eased off his jogging for a couple of weeks to let things settle.

'He is currently exercising apart from impact work and is planning to start jogging again next week, but unfortunately will miss the first part of pre-season.
