Groves: Early stages of negotiations
AFC Bournemouth manager Paul Groves has said that the Cherries are in the early stages of negotiations with a potential new signing.
Following the signings of Josh McQuoid and Lewis Grabban, Groves has made no secret of wanting to further increase his attacking options and has recently been holding talks with an unnamed player.
Groves told the Daily Echo...
"We have been speaking to a player. We are in the early stages of negotiations.
"There is a possibility that something may develop over the next seven to 10 days. It is a forward option...'
When asked if his target was former Scotland international Chris Iwelumo, who had been rumoured to be close to signing he added...
"I don`t think you would rule out anybody because you have to see what situations develop, But he is not one, at this moment in time, that is at the forefront of our planning."
