Grabban: Enthusiastic about style of play

New AFC Bournemouth signing Lewis Grabban is excited about joining a club who want to play football on the floor.

Since the departure of Lee Bradbury as manager of the Cherries in March, Paul Groves and Shaun Brooks have spoken frequently about the style of play that AFC Bournemouth will produce on the pitch.

Right through the youth set up, to the new development squad and into the first team, there will be a big emphasis on the style of play, with the Cherries playing a passing style of football on the floor.

Lewis Grabban joined the Cherries for an undisclosed fee of around £300,000 from Rotherham United and he is looking forward to being involved in the set-up.

Grabban told the Daily Echo...

'...Being closer to London and my family is great but it is not my main focus. It is more important where I am going to be playing my football and what is going to benefit me and help me to progress my career.

'Shaun Brooks told me about where the club wants to be - aiming for promotion this season - and my ambition is to be back in the Championship. The style of football Bournemouth want to play is what I agree with.

"I am enthusiastic about football being played on the floor and I am not a fan of long ball. When they said to me that was how they wished to play - and I knew previously Bournemouth didn`t play long ball anyway - it was one of the main factors in me coming here...'

...shaping up well now just a midfield general like Bostwick (Stevenage) and another strong authorative centre back like Ellis (Torquay) and we couls be singing when we're winning next season!
