Grabban completes Cherries move

AFC Bournemouth have completed the signing of Lewis Grabban from League Two side Rotherham United.

The Cherries and Rotherham agreed an undisclosed fee on Thursday which will reported be in the region of around £300,000.

He later agreed personal terms with the Cherries and he has now signed a three year deal after passing a medical.

24 year old Grabban came through the youth set-up at Crystal Palace and has previously played for Millwall, Brentford and Rotherham.

He is comfortable playing on either wing or up front and last season he was joint top goalscorer in League Two scoring 18 goals.

Grabban told afcb.co.uk...

'I'm happy that I've signed here and happy to be here, We've been going back and forth with the club and my agent, and then I came back off holiday and was able to come and talk with Shaun Brooks yesterday. We were able to agree terms in a couple of hours and it was quite swift.

'I spent some time at Crystal Palace and three years at Millwall, and then a couple of loan spells at Brentford and a year at Rotherham, so hopefully I can settle down here and be here for a while.'

'I've played in League One before so I know a bit about it. I had a good season last season and I just want carry on the form I was in and progress again, I've discussed that I will play in forward positions. Whether that's up front or coming in off the wing, I will be playing as a forward.'

300k for a proven goalscoring forward with league 1 experience is a lot is it? And who would you we rather spent a lot less on?.............. I do wonder about the vision & expectations of some of our fans!

Gary Roberts has been released by Huddersfield! A good replacement for Pugh?
Will-AFCB
Isn't Roberts a CM?
AFCB_FAN
^he plays on the left wing mostly. His crosses were also a reason why we lost the play offs.
Will-AFCB
was it his crossing or was it that we are pants at defending set pieces?!?
Fitzyafcb
Both
Will-AFCB
Ah the playoffs. i was going mental when Danny Ings scored, then they got the corner on the stroke of half time ET and they had that huge CB that scored, it went downhill from there. =( hopefully this season we will be pushing for automatic promotion
