Evans: Grabban will flourish with AFCB

Rotherham United manager Steve Evans has wished Lewis Grabban luck following his decision to a move to AFC Bournemouth.

The 24 year old, who can play on either the wing or up front, has agreed personal terms with the Cherries and is set to sign a three year deal on Friday subject to passing a medical.

Rotherham agreed an undisclosed fee with both AFC Bournemouth and Crawley Town on Thursday, the Sheffield Star have reported that the fee is likely to be in the region of £300,000 and £400,000.

Grabban was Rotherham's top scorer in League Two last season with 21 goals from 47 appearances and previously turned down a move to Crawley Town.

Evans told themillers.co.uk...

'...Lewis has conducted himself in an impeccable manner whilst I have been at this football club. I believe that he is a player that in my opinion deserves to play at a higher level and I would personally like to wish him luck with his move to AFC Bournemouth.

'Bournemouth conducted their business in a exemplary manner, they are a club that I have a lot of respect for and I am sure that Lewis and Bournemouth will be a partnership that will flourish.

'In the games that I have been the manager of Lewis he has sparkled, and he leaves Rotherham United with mine and the clubs best wishes...'

come on guys stop being negative, he can play as a striker and in midfield, plus he a goal scorer it's a great signing! Imo I don't think we will sell Tubbs considering the money spent on him and EM will not want to take a loss on a recent purchase as I cant see Rotherham matching the price we paid!

He must be sooooo fed up of us buying his players. HA!!

How much did we pay for Thomas? I can see us offloading him, maybe stockley aswell.

IMO Wesley Thomas is looking very vulnerable. I liked him as a player when he first arrived but his performances tailed of towards the end on the season when he could not have scored a goal to save his life. Sorry Wes.

What a lot of strikers we have, Thomas, Sheringham, Tubbs , Stockley, McQuoid,Grabban, Moth and of course Fletcher. Moth and Stockley are for the future and likely to go out on loan, Fletch an impact sub and of course now no reserve team to keep those who lose out match fit. Still need a play maker to make chances and to create openings and a mid field enforcer. With some doubts over the future of Pugh and McDermott at the Club this is a key area.

SOC I reckon Mcdermott could be used as a playmaker, my last game i saw last season of afcb was against chalrton and he did well in the gap between defence and midfield, ALso do you know any clubs who are interested in him as i have heard nothing. Also a quick pointer We could possibly be getting Anton Robinson back as he seems to injury prone for Huddersfield.
AFCB_FAN
Mcdermotts only downside is his attitude and off-field behaviour.

^ I loved Robbo when he was here but looked a shadow of his former self when we beat them 2-0. And, Grabban is a great signing...

I'm sure Grabbs will score goals for you. He was our top scorer last season and also did a lot of work off the ball, that some people didn't see.

Maybe he's not adjusted to the style of play Hudders played. And + we need an engine man in the middle to keep the team ticking over so this could be our break, AR and SM in the middle doesn't sound to bad.
