Cherries linked to Grabban

AFC Bournemouth have been linked with a move for Rotherham United striker Lewis Grabban.

Rotherham United have confirmed that they have accepted offers for the striker, including another bid from newly promoted League One side Crawley and a bid from another unnamed League One club.

Meanwhile Sky Sports have reported that the Cherries have 'won the race to sign' the 24 year old striker.

Grabban was Rotherham's top scorer in League Two last season with 21 goals from 47 appearances, but it has been reported that he is keen to move south after spending most of his career in London with Crystal Palace, Millwall and Brentford.

Rotherham manager Steve Evans told themillers.co.uk...

"There has been a couple more offers, One has been sanctioned by the Chairman to accept, which I've done this morning. Lewis has also been given permission to reignite talks with Crawley Town and I don't know where that is because I leave that stage alone.

"He's also been given permission to speak to another League One club, and again I don't know much about them talks, whether they will be held before the weekend or after it. I've made my position known on Lewis, whether he wants to leave because he wants to move to the south or if he wants to stay, we'd love him here because he's a talented boy."

"If I was putting on a bet, then I'd say he would say he will be leaving, but I thought he would have left last week to go to Crawley, but they couldn't agree terms. I know that both clubs are getting the opportunity to speak to an exciting young man who scored almost 20 goals and didn't always play in his favourite position, and I'd love him here but the board have accepted two offers and I'm told if he does go, then that money will be added to what we have here,"

Well I'm gona see if he's tall & it would mean that Stockley would go out on loan again. But Stockley has to be loaned to a side in iver League 1 or 2 to get games

Maybe were gonna do swapsies with Tubbs. Afterall, they have already made 2 bisd for him this summer!!

YEah i thought that^. But he's 6ft and he plays on the wing aswell (according to afcb website), just need to see what wing he plays on if he will be used as a winger. Could be bad news concerning Pugh though
AFCB_FAN
He's 6ft but seems more of a winger. I would like to keep Tubbs for atleast till Janueary to see if he gets going but maybe Grabban & some money would be intresting

Nice, so proven at league 1 aswell. I have a funny feeling we are doing what Charlton did last season. Buying players who have played in league 1 before so know the league so we can go up. Now i just hope we get a midfield enforcer and we'll be almost done for the summer.

Yeah Tottally agree ^^. I recon Bostwick or Wordsworth.

^Wordsworth a good shout but will be hard to lur from his loyal club

We outbid Sheffield Wednesday ( who were the favouites to sign him ) and Crawley, that's interesting. Rumours of Pugh and McDermott going though - but it is the "silly season" for gossip and rumour - so who knows.
