Cherries & Millwall complete McQuoid/Malone swap

AFC Bournemouth have agreed a cash plus swap deal for Scott Malone with Millwall.

Northern Ireland international Josh McQuoid returns to Dean Court as part of the deal, which will see Malone move to the Championship club for a fee reportedly worth in the region of £750,000.

The deal was finalised on Tuesday after the pair returned from their holiday in Spain with other members of the AFC Bournemouth squad.

Malone initially joined the Cherries on loan from Premier League side Wolves in July last year and went on to sign permanently in January for a fee in the region of £150,000.

He made 37 appearances for the Cherries in total scoring 6 goals.

Millwall manager Kenny Jackett told millwallfc.co.uk...

'Scott will give us an option and some freshness down the left hand side. He can play left back and wide left, and has a good assist record as well as the goals he scores.'

Malone added...

'I know Andy Keogh well from my time at Wolves and it will be good to link up with him again. I'm delighted to have the chance to prove myself in the Championship with Millwall, and my aim is to keep scoring a few goals!'

Need we quote Mr Mitchell? I think we've got an OK deal out of this, providing McQuoid is happy to work hard to prove he wasn't just a money grabbing wotsit, but why couldn't he have just told the truth rather than saying we wouldn't sell?

I don't understand why people expect to be told all the dealings the club does at the time surly all companies at times keep negotiations under wraps, its sometimes needed. If the club had announced at the start the deal was being done and then it had fallen through everyone would be on here complaining about that.
