AFC Bournemouth chairman Eddie Mitchell has been interviewed by Sky Sports News following the departure of Lee Bradbury from the club.
A brief statement on afcb.co.uk confirmed that Lee Bradbury, who had been in charge at Dean Court since January 2011, left the club on Sunday.
Bradbury was in control for 69 games in total, winning 24, drawing 20 and losing 25.
The statement confirmed that AFC Bournemouth Youth team manager Paul Groves and Cherries head of youth Shaun Brooks will take control of first team affairs until the end of the season.
With Groves in charge and Brooks assisting, in his interview with Sky, Mitchell confirmed that at the present time the club were not looking for a new manager.
Mitchell told Sky Sports News...
'First of all, can I say that at this moment in time we are not actually looking for a new manager, we have put two people in charge of the team until the end of the season, at which time we will assess the situation and move forward. So that is the situation at the moment.'
'In regarding to the situation with Lee (Bradbury), we spoke in length on Sunday, I suggested that we give him some extra personnel to work with, in his tenure as manager, he was reluctant to accept that and decided that if that was what was felt best for the club, he would not want to be part of it. So we left amicably and I wish him well for the future.'
Sky Sports News reporter Rob Wotton asked to clarify the situation in regards to whether Bradbury had actually resigned or felt undermined and Mitchell added...
'I just told you what happened.
'I'm not going to be led into questions, I was asked to report the situation and I've just told you exactly the situation, I don't really have much to add to that, I think it sums it up briefly and draws a line under the situation.'
Rob Wotton then asked who the other personnel who Mitchell wanted to add to Bradbury's back room staff were and Mitchell stated that he didn't want to add anything further.
Wotton went on to ask Mitchell whether he understood fans frustrations, who may now feel the waters have been 'even more muddied' and puzzled by the situation and Mitchell said...
'...I have made it clear the situation, I don't think anybody needs to dwell on it any longer, we have got to get on and win games of football that is what we are there for.'
Wotton again questioned why Mitchell approached Bradbury to add further people to his management team, but was then happy to install Paul Groves and Shaun Brooks without any additional personnel and Mitchell concluded...
'I've said enough, you invited me on the air, against my wishes I did purely to just clear up the situation for the fans, I don't want to take any further part, so we will leave it there ok.'
