Bradbury: Ref has held his hands up

AFC Bournemouth manager Lee Bradbury has revealed that referee Iain Williamson has 'held his hands up' for not awarding the Cherries two penalties during the recent game against Leyton Orient.

With the game poised at 1-1, Matt Tubbs was fouled inside the area just as he was about to have a shot on goal from 12 yards out, despite the decision looking clear cut from the stands behind the goal, Williamson waved away the Cherries appeals.

Moments later Williamson was again turning down another penalty shout as an Orient defender handled inside the box.

The Cherries went on to concede a second and lost their first game at the Seward Stadium in 2012.

Bradbury told afcb.co.uk...

'I went to see him after the game because I wanted to understand why we didn't get a penalty. As soon as they happened I knew they should have been given, and the DVD proves that,'

'To be fair to him he has held his hands up but it has cost us points which might be vital at the end of the season. We work really hard to get the players ready and to not get what we deserve is frustrating.

'I haven't made a habit of being critical about referees and I don't have any plans to. I didn't say what I said after the game lightly but I felt it was a big decision, and unfortunately it went against us...'
