Cook: Will have to wait and see

AFC Bournemouth loanee Steve Cook has not ruled out staying at Dean Court beyond his initial one month loan deal.

The Brighton and Hove Albion defender made his debut for the Cherries at Preston on Saturday and impressed alongside captain Adam Barrett.

Cook had just one training session with the squad before he was named in the starting line up due to Stephane Zubar's suspension.

The 20 year old hopes to impress with his future at Brighton uncertain.

Cook told the Daily Echo...

'...I had a longer loan spell at Mansfield and it is hard just coming for a month. We will have to play it by ear and see what happens.

"I hope my future is at Brighton, but with me playing games now, it puts my name out there a little more. If I don`t get offered a new contract at Brighton, I`ll deal with it when it happens.

"Bournemouth like to play football and can battle as well, which is what I love. If Lee likes what I am doing and I`m not in Brighton`s plans, who knows. We will have to wait and see."

Early days after one appearance but, he looks like a good player with the potential to be 'different class' for us...

You were immense at Preston, keep playing like that and we will love to keep hold of you! I wouldnt play Zubar saturday (and i am a big fan) But Cook and Barrett were superb, and i like Peters at right back.
