Taylor awaiting echocardiogram result

AFC Bournemouth striker Lyle Taylor is currently awaiting the results of an echocardiogram which he had on Wednesday.

The Cherries striker was withdrawn at half time during AFC Bournemouth's win over Yeovil in the Football League Trophy on Tuesday night.

With just minutes of the first half remaining, Taylor was passed the ball and quickly laid it back off and he appeared to just suddenly look quite ill. The physio team appeared to be using a stethoscope at one stage while he was still on the pitch receiving treatment and he later walked down the tunnel but did not return after half time.

He later reappeared and came back out to sit on the bench during the second half.

On Wednesday he went to Poole Hospital for an ECG and he is now awaiting those results.

Until he is given the all clear he will not be joining the Cherries squad for training.

Taylor told afcb.co.uk...

'It was strange. I just couldn't breathe and I was holding my side trying to get some air in. I'm not asthmatic and I've never had any problems like this before...'

'...I didn't have time to take on what the repercussions of what was happening I was just more worried about trying to get some air in to me. I didn't have a chance to think this is a heart problem or the end of my career I just wanted to breathe.'

'I feel fine but the manager, the doctor and Steve Hard want to make sure I'm physically fine and given the all clear before I train,'

Something like that happed to me in a race before. It was only 200m wich i do every year but their was one year where I ltrelly collapsed at the end and couldn't breath and it was dreadfull to go through. Anyway back on topic, I hope Taylor is alright.
