AFCB sign Fogden

AFC Bournemouth have confirmed the signing of Havant & Waterlooville midfielder Wes Fogden.

The 23 year old completed his move to the Cherries this (Thursday) morning.

The transfer was initially set to be a loan deal with a view to permanent move, however due to Football League regulations, Fogden was permitted to complete the move outside of the transfer window due to playing lower than the Conference Premier.

The attacking midfielder began his career at Brighton before he dropped into the non-league making around 150 appearances for Dorchester and Havant & Waterlooville, scoring over 30 goals.

The former Brighton trainee has taken the number 12 shirt and began training with the squad earlier today.

Fogden told afcb.co.uk...

'It's a big moment for me and I'm really pleased to be back in the Football League. I'm excited about playing for Bournemouth and working with Lee Bradbury...'

'...I'd heard about the players who had been given a chance by Bournemouth and done well for the club. I played against Harry Arter when he was at Woking so I know about the quality in the squad...'

AFC Bournemouth manager Lee Bradbury told BBC Radio Solent...

'...He can play on either wing and can also play up front or in behind the strikers, He's well thought of in the non-league circuit, and I saw it as a good opportunity to get him down here and integrate him into our squad.'

I hope my cynicism hasn't got the better of me, but this lad seems as if he can play in a role currently occupied by Harry Arter. An addition or a replacement?

Don't mind getting this player but it can't be an emergencey loan. One you're going to pick a player for an emergencey loan I wouldn't of picked him and we don't need one too start of with. I would like to see this player but I see it as a risk.
Will-AFCB
He signed a 3 year deal as he was in a league below the blue square therefore he could sign outside of the window. So not an emergency loan anymore.

Why would he replace Arter is Arter just signed a three year deal?
AFCB_FAN
Also he can play as a winger, so maybe a replacement for Feeney?

bout to say fan i don't know too much about the kid but im 99% sure when he was at dorch he was used down the right wing, although being a bit more mature he might of been moved to the middle at h&w but i think hes a winger

I'm not going to lie but I'm really concerd about the injurey he had on his back. He's proberly 100% fine to play but when u have a tumour removed from your spine I think it was anything could happen shorley. I want this player to do well but the fact that he's said he wants to follow the foot steps of Robinson, Bartley, Feeney etc sais it all. He'll come here be great and before you know it he's in Burnley or Millwall. But I guess that's how it is at Bournemouth for the time being. I wish this player good luck and I'm not going to be selfish and dispize if he does leave because if this dream works out for him he will be a inspiration for alot of people.

Once again you guys have brought me up to speed! The young man could be simply marvellous! He is probably a replacement for Feeney right? We all know we will sell anyone except the owner for @ £300k so who knows he might be brilliant and go in January and then bingo we get a further up grade for our club.....Maybe in these depressed times we could even buy the ground back? I am too old to be cynical and I hope the enthusiam the Manager and board have for this man means he is there to help push us on up the league?
