AFC Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe has told young 'keeper Dan Thomas to prove himself and take his opportunity.
18 year old Thomas was thrown into the action on Saturday to make his home debut, following an ankle injury to Shwan Jalal.
Thomas who still represents the Cherries at youth team and reserve team level has had a rapid rise through the ranks following the departure of former second choice 'keeper Ryan Pryce.
Howe told the Daily Echo...
"I`m sure he enjoyed the game, It was great for him to make his home debut and the crowd really supported him.
"It`s a great opportunity for Dan and he`s got to grasp it - not just in games but in training every day.
"He`s probably had this earlier than he`d have thought but it`s up to him to prove he`s good enough."
