AFC Bournemouth legend Steve Fletcher has no plans to retire, despite being mocked by his team mates and opposition supporters about his age.
The 37 year old striker has made over 700 career appearances for Hartlepool, Chesterfield, Crawley and AFC Bournemouth during his career, but over the past year has been making more and more of an impact on the pitch.
Fletch told the Daily Echo…
"The lads are always ribbing me about my age and have started calling me grand-daddy! I was waiting to come on against Macclesfield on Saturday and someone shouted to me that I had forgotten my Zimmer. I get a lot of banter at away games and people always want to know when I`m going to retire.
"While I believe I can still make a difference, whether it`s starting or coming off the bench, and as long as the manager feels I can still do a job, then I`ll keep going. I don`t feel any different now to how I did five or six years ago.
"I had 18 months away from the club and felt I improved both as a player and as a person. People might think it`s strange how a 35-year-old can improve, but I think I did…"
