Howe support for Pitman

AFC Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe has stood by striker Brett Pitman.

Pitman had a poor game last Saturday against Notts County, which resulted in some frustrated shouts from the Dean Court crowd.

The Cherries faithful know how good Brett Pitman can be, which is the reason why the crowd can turn on him so quickly when he is off the boil.

Unfortunately Saturday was another one of those days, hands on hips, shrugged shoulders and general lack of interest as he drudged around the pitch.

His attitude also prompted some negatives comments in the Daily Echo and from supporters on the forum.

Howe told the 2CR FM (thanks to Neil Perrett for the clarification)...

'I suppose the problem is that his body language lets everyone know how he is feeling.'

'Brett (Pitman) didn't actually play that badly but his body language wasn't the best and the fans picked up on that. Not many players have that characteristic.

'I haven't had a problem with his performances. I think he's done ever so well since I came in and I'm looking for him to kick on again and continue to play well.'
