'If It's Football, It's Vital'

AFCB merchandise available next week

AFC Bournemouth's club shop is expected to open next week, according to a statement released by AFC Bournemouth Chief Executive Alastair Saverimutto.

The football club shop has been closed since the end of last season, during administration all ties with Bourne Red, the previous manufacturers were broken and a new sponsorship deal was signed with Sports retailer JD Sports.

Saverimutto told afcb.co.uk...

'...In July the club announced news of a partnership with sports retailing chain JD Sports. This is the biggest sponsorship deal in the club's history. We would love for the shop to be up and running right now but we simply can not open the shop until we have goods to sell! We have been told by JD that the stock, which includes replica shirts, will be arriving next week. This is a really exciting time for the club and we can't wait to open the new shop.

Once we have received the products the shop will open...'

Savi also commented on the reasons why the club are still unable to accept sales via debit and credit cards...

'...Our Credit Card application was made the day we received the Football League share back. We have been told that the application process could take between four and six weeks. It was also pointed out that due to the old companies previous trading, they were 'black-listed' within the credit card industry and with regard the current state-of-affairs across the country the application would not be plain sailing.'

'We still await an outcome and this continues to handicap our business. This also has an effect of purchasing using credit cards and tickets via the Internet. Once our new credit card application has been accepted and processed we will be able to trade as a normal business...'
