Bartley is infectious

AFC Bournemouth manager Kevin Bond has praised midfield dynamo Marvin Bartley for his start to the season.

Bond has pushed Bartley out onto the right wing in recent matches, a move that some Bournemouth supporters are not too pleased with.

The argument that you should play your best players in their best positions, was well argued after the England game on Wednesday night, with Gerrard being played out of position on the left wing.

Gerrard can be more influential for Liverpool and England in the centre of the park and the same argument works for Bartley and Bournemouth.

Bartley will run and run, cover every blade of grass and tackle anyone that moves, out on the right wing he can be isolated and not part of the midfield battle and although he still has impressed, it would be nice to see him in his more natural position.

But Bond was still full of praise for Bartley's recent performances and he told the Daily Echo...

'Marvin has started the season well. He gives the side energy, he's got power and bags of energy.

'I think his energy is quite infectious as well and I'd like it to be. He chases lost causes, closes people down, harries people and gets about the pitch very well...'

'...I love his energy levels and his attitude.'

He has shown that he is a good player and an excellent find from non-league which could well be our main hunting ground now. Would like to see him in a midfield 3 with Anderton and Hollands (when hes fit).
