Cooper rejects Crewe and signs for AFCB

Cherries utility man Shaun Cooper has today pledged his future to AFC Bournemouth in agreeing a new two year deal with the club.

Cooper, who has played over 100 times for the Cherries, was out of contract at the end of last season. His displays in the last campaign attracted interest from elsewhere and was courted by a number of higher division clubs.

Media speculation linked him closely with a move to Cheshire outfit Crewe Alexandra to the point of agreeing terms with the League One club.

But the twenty-four year old rejected the move in favour of extended his four year spell with AFC Bournemouth.

A delighted Jeff Mostyn commented...

"Having spent the majority of the day in dialogue with Shaun and his agent I was thrilled to receive confirmation that Shaun had agreed to remain at Dean Court.

"This is a clear indication of our commitment to retaining the players that completed the season in such magnificent fashion."
